Prayer Shawl Ministry
"You created every part of me, knitting me
in my Mother's womb. For such handiwork,
I praise you. Awesome this great wonder!"

Prayer shawls are either knitted or crocheted in
prayer by members of the Prayer Shawl Ministry
at St. Paul's Episcopal, a ministry started in the
fall of 2007.
Since then dozens of shawls have been created, blessed, and presented to individuals in need. The shawl is a tangible reminder that God's love enfolds us - and the prayers of his people surround us - in times of sadness or sickness, as well as times of joy and celebration. Prayer shawls remind us of God's caring presence and the loving support within the community of faith. The shawls are also an invitation to be people of prayer faithful in offering intercessions, thanksgivings and blessings in the name of Jesus.

The Prayer Shawl Ministry provides support for the patients and families of St. Anthony's Hospice
St. Anthony's Hospice, in partnership with the community, seeks to maximize the quality and dignity of life for individuals facing life-limiting illnesses for residents of Henderson, Union, and Webster. The Basic Knit Prayer Shawl Pattern by Victoria Galo and Janet Bristow as well as the Original Prayer Shawl Crochet Pattern by Rita Glod may be found at www.shawlministry.com Just drop off the finished shawl at either St. Paul's Episcopal Church or St Anthony Hospice.
